A walk has been organized to save the Jalangi river by "Jalangi Nodi bachao committee" (Save the Jalangi River) and "Jalangi nodi somaj" (Jalangi River society) joint venture at Tehatta, West Bengal; India on 22/12/2019. Riverside tree plantation, removing garbage from the river are part of this Initiative.  Once Jalangi was a full flowing river but now the river is full of sediments and has lost her depth. River is breaking her side portions every day. Intense pressure of growing populations, industrialization and mind-boggling planned and unplanned development is seriously showing in terms of both quality and quantity of water the rivers provide. Jalangi River is currently in danger.
